Branta began operations in 2023 with a hunger to reimagine the user experience for sending Bitcoin payments. Since then, Branta has pioneered pre-payment verification for Bitcoin and Lightning.

Founded to rethink how people interact with digital money, we launched out of North Carolina as a Bitcoin-only company.
- OCTOBER 2024
Pre-Payment Verification for Bitcoin goes live
At TABConf, Lightning Bounties and Branta collaborated for the first Guardrail Integration. Pioneering Bitcoin safety, Lightning Bounties became the first company to adopt pre-payment verification via Guardrail at TABConf in Atlanta, Georgia. This established a new global benchmark for responsible Bitcoin transactions.

Branta processes its 500th payment

Branta and Amboss announce Guardrail+
Combining pre-payment verification with Compliance for Lightning Transactions - setting a new industry standard.
- MAY 2025
Branta expands to BTCPayServer
Satoshi Coffee Co, operating out of Raleigh, North Carolina, becomes the first-ever BTCPayServer merchant to let customers verify payment destination.
